This quote really inspired me during my junior year especially, because I stopped taking a liking to essays and such. After I had my concussions, it was hard for me to get back into writing. My brain would over think things, and I would burn out fast, but when I read this quote it made me realize that I just needed to write about something worth writing for. As soon as I found it, things became much easier and I was able to complete my English assignments in a more efficient way.

This assignment is written in a news reporter style. I chose this to particular piece for critical thinking, because of the process I went through to write this paper. As a part of the forensic part of chemistry, our teacher taught us new things in order to solve a fake murder case in our classroom. We had to use what we just learned to help us figure out the clues that were given by the murderer. It was a fun experience for students and myself. In order for the teacher to pass us on that unit, we had to write a paper showing our understanding. I know this shows critical thinking, because I had to use new knowledge and learn how to apply it and write an essay. Also, the teacher showed her understanding while reading my paper.

In order to compete in the science fair, I had to have a strong background of knowledge in what I was presenting to the judges. With lots of help from different peers and my science teachers, I was able to develop a great background research paper. I know this was paper was a piece of effective communication, because it got my partner and I to the regional science fair, and the judges didn't have to ask lots of questions about what my purpose was for my project, because my background paper explained it and why we would do such a project. It was a great experience to compete for the science fair for the first time and make it to regionals.

For those who have not read the novel "The Kite Runner," I would highly recommend it to any and everyone. It is a tragic story of two boys who are best friends, the only difference is their class. This leads to shocking events as well as huge issues as the plot continues throughout the book. My English teacher assigned us a paper based on the necessities of events in order for the plot to go as accordingly. I chose this assignment because it does a good job showing my understanding of one of the big issues in this novel, which is a realistic issue in the middle eastern countries. In this essay I apply my knowledge, along with evidence from the book to persuade the audience that the social class and environment there makes a huge difference to this book. I succeeded in persuading my audience by having some of my peers review and give feedback on how strong they thought my argument was. They agreed that it was indeed very persuasive and had a strong voice to it.
